The second episode of Heather & Ben’s Highcliffe Castle Engagement shoot is where things started to have an interesting change in direction. After doing the formal big dress, suit & tie shots, this Dorset Wedding Photographer took a flip side approach with the happy couple taking a quick change of clothes for a new lighter, relaxed edge to our photo session. Yes we carried on with a few shots within the Castle grounds but the we took a short stroll down to the beach, kicked off the shoes and splashed in the water. Even though the sun wasn’t shinning both Heather & Ben rolled up their trousers and danced through the lapping sea.
On finding a lovely bank of sea grasses I invited the two of them to jump on in and have a little play for the camera. The words escape me, but if I try hard the closest thing to describe the scene was like observing a scene from ‘Gorilla’s in the midst’ when Sigourney Weaver first interracts with the loveable primates !! Well with the faces being pulled by Ben, I think you will get what I mean. ![]()

What a lovely couple. Natural looking shots and great locations – great work!!
Linus, you’re one lucky guy to work in this part of the world – I love this location and have shot here only once. Good collection of natural shots, like the ones in the grass the most. Spot on.
